About this Safari

Zimbabwe & Botswana offer rewarding and exciting safari experiences. On this safari we plan several nights near Victoria Falls so you can recover from long flights and see the mighty Falls themselves. Our small group will then fly into Hwange National Park where wildlife viewing is at its best during this season. Hwange is noted for its large herds of elephants. We continue into Botswana, spending time in the Linyanti region which lies north of the Okavango Delta. Linyanti has several channels, lagoons and spillways that draw wildlife as the season gets drier, so it should be at its best for us. From here, we end our safari with time in the unique Okavango Delta.

Each region offers something unique in terms of scenery, wildlife and activities. Chartered flights with professional pilots take you from camp to camp. Not only do you get more time to explore but you get a special bird's eye view of the region.

This well-rounded trip will be hosted by Travis Steffens, who has been leading safaris in southern Africa for several years. Travis is a  Conservation Ecologist who is also an expert on Madagascar where he researches lemurs and how they respond to habitat fragmentation. He is an International Fellow of the renowned Explorer's Club.

Call us, or come in and meet out staff who are more than happy to tell you all about it!

Brief Itinerary

Brief Itinerary

Sept. 24, 25 & 26 - Victoria Falls (3nts, Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Tapas, 2B, 1L): On arrival day join the group for a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River. On Sept. 25 go on a guided tour of the Falls followed by lunch with views of the gorge. Next day is for your own explorations (ask us what activities are available from helicopter flights to bungee jumping).

Sept. 27, 28, 29 & 30 -  Hwange National Park (4nts, Davisons Camp, 4B, 4L, 4D):  After a short flight to Hwange National Park and the wildlife-abundant Linkwasha Concession, the real safari begins with twice-daily safari activities. Mornings are great for walking excursions - get out of the vehicle and actually feel Africa underfoot! You can also just relax and enjoy the activity at the waterhole just in front of camp. The area: known for enormous herds of elephants and buffalo, especially at this time of year.

Oct. 1, 2, & 3 – Linyanti Concession (3nts, Linyanti Tented Camp, 3B, 3L, 3D): Fly into Botswana and the private concession of Linyanti. Over the next 2-1/2 days, enjoy safari activities including night game drives.

Linyanti Concession: An abundance of wildlife roams freely between the woodland habitats, ancient floodplains and forests in this region. The big game in this area increases dramatically during the dry season when the area hosts large herds of impala, blue wildebeest, giraffe and buffalo as well as the world’s highest density of elephant. Several packs of wild dog are found in the area and lion, leopard and cheetah are frequently sighted.

Oct. 4 & 5 - Okavango Delta (2nts, Seba Camp, 2B, 2L, 2D): Another flight takes us to the unique and vast Okavango Delta. Activities include water activites such as exploring by mokoro (a traditional canoe with a paddler-guide), boat rides and game drives.

Okavango Delta: Lying in the middle of the largest expanse of sand on earth the Okavango Delta is one of Africa’s most amazing, sensitive and complex environments supporting a spectacle of wilderness and wildlife. Unique as one of the world’s few inland deltas, the placid waters and lush indigenous forests offer a safe haven for innumerable bird and wildlife species.

Oct. 6 - Homeward (1B): Fly to Maun, marking the end of the safari. From here, connect to your onward flights. We can assist with any trip extensions you may be interested in, from South Africa’s wine country or Garden Route, kayaking on Lake Malawi, more safari in Zambia, or exploring unique Madagascar.
