On Safari with the Jane Goodall Institute

I am very proud to announce that Civilized Adventures has been appointed to design and operate Jane Goodall Institute-Canada safaris. As with all relationships that expect to endure, we will start slowly. In 2009 we offer a trip into Kenya and Uganda that will combine traditional safari activities with more in-depth encounters with researchers and Jane Goodall projects on site in Africa.

This and future trips will be hosted by a representative of the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) of Canada who will liaise with the researchers and bring you behind the scenes of various projects. You’ll also see the chimps and learn about the on-going efforts to protect them. An important component are visits to various projects linked to the “Roots and Shoots” program that Jane Goodall has initiated. The program involves youth pojects that “promote care and concern for animals, the environment and the human community”.

It’s a pleasure to be involved with this highly respected organization. Please contact us to put your name on the interest list for JGI trips.

Kenya Update

With a new coalition government proclaimed by the end of February 2008, all "do not travel" advisories have been lifted and Denell has returned from an inspection tour. We are pleased that Kenya is returning to normal and it is "business as usual". As of now all of our summer and subsequent trips will run as planned.
