Brian Keating, Head of Conservation Outreach at the Calgary Zoo, has travelled throughout all seven continents, including eight expeditions to remote Antarctica and some 30 trips to Africa. On each trip he shares his knowledge and passion for all things wild with the infectious enthusiasm he has become famous for. In addition to his full time job at the Zoo, he is now in his 21st consecutive year of conducting a weekly nature column on CBC radio. For a period of eight years he hosted a bi-weekly TV nature segment for the Canadian Discovery Channel. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Calgary, the Honorary Chief of the village of Dompie in Ghana, West Africa, a pilot of over 20 years, a keen naturalist, scuba diver, and mountaineer. He recently completed an hour-long documentary entitled “Planet Zoo” and has just published his fifth book, “Going Wild: Amazing Animal Adventures On Islands”. Brian is often accompanied by his wife Dee, local Calgary physician and a knowledgeable naturalist.
