Greg Tarry

Greg Tarry has over 34 years of professional experience with the Calgary Zoo. He has retired from his position of Director of Conservation Operations and is looking forward to having more time to devote to one of his major interests, travel. Drawing on his extensive knowledge of nature and a sincere appreciation for the world’s plants and animals, Greg has successfully hosted many diverse trips.

His 1988 group to China returned home with the Giant Pandas who were first introduced to Calgarians and the world at the Winter Olympics. Since that time, Greg has hosted several safaris into Africa, including Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Kenya and Tanzania. He has also enjoyed leading trips into Ecuador, Peru and Belize. Greg loves exploring diverse environments and has a keen appreciation of our natural world.
