Travis Steffens has a BSc and MA in Primatology from the University of Calgary (where he first met Brian Keating of the Calgary Zoo). He is currently a PhD candidate (University of Toronto). Since 2005 he has worked as a guide for a renowned active travel company and he has led more than 30 trips around Africa, Central America and the Canadian Rockies. He has a passion for wildlife, conservation, and travel, and he loves to share his adventures with his guests and through writing and photography. He has lived in Belize studying black howler monkeys and most recently in Madagascar studying Coquerel's sifakas. Travis is a director of the "Lambas for Lemurs" project, which is a conservation education program created to promote the conservation of primates in Madagascar.
