Margaret (Margie) Woo’s deep fascination with the animal world eventually brought her to and has kept her at the Calgary Zoo since 1999. Over the years, she has had diverse experience as an educator and is currently the Corporate Education Program Coordinator. Margie has gained tremendous experience in program facilitation, particularly with team builders, and in providing a variety of “edutainment” to large adult groups. Margie is passionate and takes great pride in what she does. This has resulted in her receiving three White Hat Award nominations for Best Visitor Service: Tour/Interpretive Guide.

Margie started with Civilized Adventures in 2007 on a trip to Peru/Ecuador. It was an incredible, euphoric journey for Margie and has ignited a strong desire in her to continue travelling. She loves meeting new people, exploring different cultures, and engaging people into the wonderful world of the wild. Margie's new found love for Ecuador brought her back there in 2008 as host of another Civilized Adventures trip. She then returned to Peru & Ecuador hosting an enthusiastic group of travellers in Jan. '09. Margie ventured to Africa as host of a family safari in Kenya during July '09, and she now looks forward to hosting you on your next adventure!
