Remember: this is a sample itinerary based on one particular route. There are a variety of routes available, some more challenging than others. We have years of experience helping travellers in their quest to summit Kilimanjaro and so should you have differing interests we are ready and able to match you to the route best suited to your needs.

Brief Itinerary
Day 1 - ARRIVE TANZANIA (D): Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport; transfer to Moshi (Keys Hotel). Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 - BIG TREE CAMP; 2795m; ~4-5 hours walking; ~11km (B/L/D): After a briefing, transfer to the Park Gate. Hike through tropical rainforest to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp.
Day 3 - SHIRA 1 CAMP; 3505m; Continue the ascent (B/L/D): Gain 610m. Cross into Shira Caldera (Kili’s 3rd cone) and first summit views.
Day 4 - SHIRA 2 CAMP; 3720m; (B/L/D): Cross the Shira Plateau. Gain only 215m today, which will help your acclimatization.
Day 5 - BARRANCO CAMP; 3865m; (B/L/D): Circumnavigate the mountain, with little gain in elevation, but taking about 7-8 hours.
Day 6 - BARAFU CAMP; 4560m; 8-9 hrs (B/L/D): Trek via Karangu Valley to Barafu Camp. Turn in early this evening.
Day 7 - SUMMIT DAY; 5895m; 12-16 hrs (B/L/D): Climb 4-5 hours to the rim of the summit crater (Stella Point, 5750m). Continue to Uhuru Peak (5895m) - the highest point in Africa! Descend all the way to Mweka (3,600m) for your last night on the mountain.
Day 8 - MOSHI: Descend 3-4 hours to the park gate. Transfer to the hotel to celebrate!
Day 9 - DEPART: Transfer to the airport or begin a safari. Please ask about your options.
