Brief Itinerary

Day 1 - ARRIVE BANGKOK: You’ll be met on arrival and transferred to your chosen hotel.

Day 2 - BANGKOK (B, L, D): Tour the Grand Palace: see the Emerald Buddha and the massive reclining Buddha. Go by tuk tuk - a fun Thai-style mode of transport - to Dusit Palace with its display of rare traditional arts and crafts. Attend the Siam Niramitr dinner show, a dazzling performance showcasing Thai history and culture.

Day 3 - KHAO YAI NATIONAL PARK (B, L): Visit a morning market; continue to Thailand’s oldest nature sanctuary and a World Heritage protected zone. Go on forest walks, swim in waterfall-fed pools, ride elephants in the forest, then return to Bangkok.

Day 4 - CHIANG MAI (B): Fly to Chiang Mai. Explore the Night Market with your guide.

Day 5 - CHIANG MAI (B, L): Spend the morning on a leisurely bike ride. Bicycle lanes follow the Ping River. See orchards, rural life, and the temple ruins of Wiang Kum Kam (once an ancient capital). Later, visit Doi Suthep, northern Thailand’s most sacred temple.

Day 6 - CHIANG MAI (B, L): A day for culinary adventure as you join a cooking class! Lunch will be of your own creation today.

Day 7 - CHIANG RAI (B, L): Visit an elephant training camp; continue to the hill-top temple of Wat Thaton for a panoramic view of the area including the Mae Kok River. After a riverside lunch, go by boat to a Shan village (the Shan are originally from Myanmar) before reaching Chiang Rai.

Day 8 - CHIANG RAI (B, L): Visit Doi Tung Royal Villa with its beautiful gardens, and the bizarre “Hall of Opium”, a small museum outlining the complicated history of opium.

Days 9, 10 & 11 - HUA HIN (3B): Fly to Hua Hin to enjoy several days on the beach.

Days 12 & 13 - BANGKOK & HOMEWARD (2B): Fly to Bangkok. Stay at the airport hotel, as most flights depart early in the morning.
