Brief Itinerary

Jan. 10/11 - to CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA: Overnight flights via Europe take you to Cape Town, South Africa, landing there on Jan. 12.

Jan. 12, 13 & 14 - CAPE TOWN: Arrive in this picturesque city where we spend 3 nights and 2 days exploring. Today we relax and later meet for a Welcome dinner along the historic Victoria & Alfred waterfront. Over the next two days we'll explore the city on a guided tour, take a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting) and spend a full day exploring the Cape Peninsula. (Portswood Hotel, 3nts, 2B, 1L, 1D)

Jan. 15, 16, 17, & 18 - KNYSNA: We drive the scenic route north over mountain passes to Oudtshoorn, famous for its ostrich farms. Stop for lunch and then continue to the waterfront town of Knysna, where we spend 4 nights. Jan. 16 the golfers in the group will golf at Jack Nicklaus' Signature Simola Golf Resort, while the non-golfers in the group will have a free day to explore the beauty of the region.

Jan. 17 non-golfers will venture into the countryside on a guided tour of the famous Tsitsikamma Forest, and golfers will take on the Pezula Championship Course. Jan. 18 is a free day to explore or golf, and to end the day we'll meet for a stunning sunset cruise to view the stunning Knysna heads. (Protea Hotel Knysna Quays, 4nts, 4B, 1L)

Jan. 19, 20 & 21 - WINELANDS: Travel along the gorgeous "Garden Route" towards South Africa's lush winelands region. Golfers will play at Erinvale Golf Resort, with its dramatic scenes of mountains, vineyards and ocean! Non-golfers will have free time to explore the quaint town of Stellenbosch and then Jan. 21 the group joins together for a tour of the lovely wine estates that dot the countryside. A stroll through historic Franschhoek ends the day. (Erinvale Hotel, 3nts, 3B, 1L)

Jan. 22 & 23 - WATERBERG: Drive to Cape Town, then fly to Johannesburg and transfer to the beautiful Waterberg area, known for its distinct mountain scenery. Spend two full days at a golf resort, with golfers playing the Legends Par Three Tribute Course, while non-golfers enjoy the stunning surrounds and amenities of this deluxe resort. (Legend Golf & Safari Resort, 2nts, 2B)

Jan. 24 & 25 - WATERBERG & ON SAFARI: We spend all of Jan. 24 at the Legends Golf Resort & Spa. Golfers enjoy a round at the Signature Golf Course and non-golfers take advantage of their lovely surroundings and the wealth of services and amenities at the resort. Later this afternoon we transfer to the nearby Ravenside Lodge, our base for our safari day!

Jan. 25 we embark on morning and afternoon guided game drives within the Entabeni Safari Conservancy. This introduction to safari will give you a taste of the safari experience Africa offers. With the spectacular Waterberg mountains as your backdrop, you'll search for a variety of species, including the "Big 5"! (Ravenside Lodge, 2nts, 2B, 1L, 2D)

Jan. 26/27 - HOMEWARD: We have a leisurely morning at the lodge and then we return to Johannesburg, where, if time permits, we'll visit the historic Nelson Mandela Apartheid Museum, before heading to the airport. We board our international flights home, travelling overnight to Europe and arriving home Jan. 27. (1B)
