Discover Nepal

Discover Nepal (15 days)

Tour Overview

Nepal is a remote, mountainous country bordered to the north by Tibet, to the east by Sikkim and by the Indian states of Bihar, Uttar Anchal and Uttar Pradesh to the south and west. We will spend some time in the Kathmandu Valley visiting its ancient cities full of gilded Hindu temples, large white domed Buddhist stupas, bronze and stone statues and bustling bazaars.

We leave the busy capital and travel to Nagarkot, 30 km east of Kathmandu, on the rim of the valley. From here, at sunrise and sunset, are outstanding views of the eastern Himalaya. From Nagarkot we travel by road to the small hill town and bazaar of Gorkha, then continue our journey to Pokhara, smaller and quieter than Kathmandu with its beautiful lake set below the majestic peaks of the Annapurna Himalaya. We'll then continue to the Chitwan National Park. The Park is well known for its tigers, onehorned rhinoceros, several species of deer, sloth bear, leopard, wild boars and more than 350 species of birds.

Although this trip is designed as a nontrekking tour, we have the chance of some easy walks and rambles for those who are interested. In addition we have the opportunity to try some white water rafting and take a mountain flight to see Everest.
